Membership in the Caboose Watercolor Society is by invitation only. There are no dues, no regular meetings, or juried shows. Conflicts are not allowed and must be resolved privately. Any three artists can set up a get together to paint, critique work or do demos. We have several local or traveling exhibits annually in which to promote our exciting and splashy watercolors. The Hill Country Camera Club
is a group of amateur and professional photographers
dedicated to the furtherance of photography as a creative art.
The goal of the Hill Country Camera Club is to help educate others
in the technical aspects, the aesthetics & art of photography, and
to serve as a meeting place for people who share a common interest in
photography. Through meetings, lectures, show & tell programs, slide
shows, field trips, community work, and our annual PhotoQuest,
gallery exhibition, we help others to understand composition,
general photography guidelines, lighting and basic equipment usage. The Hill Country Camera Club invites you to attend their meetings
on the 2nd Thursday every month in the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial
Library on Water St. in Kerrville. Meetings are held downstairs at 7 pm |
Hill Country Geoscientists

The Hill Country Geoscientists are a group of geologists, geophysicists and anyone interested in the earth sciences. The group meets the third Monday of the month from September through May at the Inn of the Hills. Program emphasis is on earth sceinces and earth resources, such as hydrocarbons and water. Literally, the subject the group is interested in is the whole world! The Hill Country Porcelain Art Guild is a group dedicated to preserving and promoting porcelain art by becoming better artists and patrons through education and fellowship. The guild enjoys a rich history and a wealth of knowledge of porcelain painting. The group is always willing to share this knowledge with anyone interested in becoming a porcelain artist. Hill Country Quilt Guild

The Hill Country Quilt Guild is an organization that supports and participates in activities that encourage appreciation of fine quilts and quilt making. This includes displaying quilts in windows of businesses, the downtown visitors’ center and the Kerr Arts & Cultural Center. Quilt Guild members have made quilts for organizations in need, such as Ronald McDonald House in San Antonio and the Kerrville organizations of Any Baby Can, The Crisis Council Center, the Veterans’ Hospital patients, Star Ranch for Boys, and K’Star. The guild holds monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month, excluding December, at Zion Lutheran Church, 600 Barnett Street, Kerrville. The Hill Country Turners (HCT) was founded in 1989 as a chapter of the American Association of Woodturners, the largest organization in the world dedicated to the advancement of woodturning. HCT members share knowledge, information and provide assistance and encouragement to anyone interested in learing about or improving their woodturning skills. HCT meets the second Thursday of each month at the Kerr Arts and Cultural Center. Visitors are always welcome. |
Johnson Creek Press

Johnson Creek Press is a group of artists dedicated to learning and sharing their knowledge of fine art printmaking. Members create hand-pulled prints using many processes including: etching, dry point, aquatint, wood and linoleum block, collagraph, and monotype. The group meets twice monthly at the Hill Country Arts Foundation to use its three printmaking presses. The Foundation is situated on Johnson Creek, from which the group took its name. Membership is open, however, potential members are required to have enough printmaking experience to work independently.

Kerr County Historical Commission

The Kerr County Historical Commission (KCHC) is a county agency made up of volunteer residents for the purpose of initiating programs suggested by the Texas Historical Commission at Austin for the preservation of the historical heritage of the county. It is the responsibility of the Commission to determine the existence of historical buildings, sites or cemeteries and to explore. describe, explain and record information regarding the history of Kerr County. The KCHC meets the third Monday of each month in the Logan Library on the Schreiner University Campus. The public is welcome to attend. For more information visit their website. |

Visions 10 is an alliance of ten Texas Hill Country artists that began meeting monthly in 1994 to critique their work, share their expertise, and improve their art. All have experienced artistic growth in this supportive, motivating environment. Members of Visions 10 share a common enthusiasm for life and the world around them, a zest reflected in their art. They are creative in using the visual stimulation around them to produce exciting, innovative artwork. Common interests and goals do not lead to commonality in the members' art.
